On December 9th each year, the international community celebrates International Anti-Corruption Day, a reminder that corruption is not an abstract concept, but a daily threat to democracy, the economy, and public trust in institutions.
This year, the National Transparency Authority (NTA) is hosting the 5th Integrity Forum, highlighting the need for strong institutions, accountability, and a culture of transparency across both the public and private sectors. At Fraud Line, we are honored that the NTA has selected our whistleblowing platform as an official channel for submitting reports, offering citizens a safe, anonymous, and confidential way to report incidents of corruption.
Corruption Concerns Us All
Corruption is not an issue that affects “others.” It impacts:
- the economy, by weakening fair competition and discouraging investment
- politics, by eroding trust in institutions and democratic processes
- society, by reinforcing inequalities and fostering a sense of injustice
Addressing corruption cannot rely solely on legislation and formal procedures. It requires collaboration, ongoing commitment, and personal responsibility.
What We Can Do in Practice
Each of us can meaningfully contribute to combating corruption through simple but essential actions:
- Report incidents of corruption or misconduct when we become aware of them, using secure and confidential reporting channels.
- Support organizations and initiatives that promote transparency and integrity in both the public and private sectors.
- Inform and educate those around us about the real impact of corruption on our daily lives.
- Engage in self-reflection, recognizing that integrity begins with our own choices and behaviors.
The solution is not only to point fingers.
It is to take personal responsibility for the part each of us plays.
The Role of Fraud Line
Fraud Line has developed a comprehensive, secure, and user-friendly platform for confidential and anonymous reporting. It enables employees and citizens to report incidents of wrongdoing, fraud, or unethical practices, from any device, anonymously or with their contact details.
Through our services:
- We support organizations in complying with Law 4990/2022 on whistleblowing by providing secure internal and external reporting channels.
- We can act as an independent External Reporting Officer, strengthening the objectivity and reliability of the reporting process.
- We help foster a culture of trust and accountability in the workplace, empowering individuals who choose to speak up.
Our collaboration with entities such as the National Transparency Authority and other public bodies demonstrates that whistleblowing tools can form a vital pillar of the national strategy for transparency.
Integrity in Practice — Not Just in Words
For us at Fraud Line, International Anti-Corruption Day is not merely a “day of awareness,” but a reminder of our mission:
- to help organizations prevent and detect corruption
- to protect those who choose to speak up
- to cultivate workplaces where transparency, fairness, and respect for everyone’s rights are non-negotiable values
Integrity is not an abstract ideal.
It is reflected in our decisions, our processes, our institutions and in the platforms that allow people to speak safely.
Corruption cannot be addressed through silence.
It is confronted through courage, collaboration, and systems designed to protect the truth.
At Fraud Line, we will continue to stand beside organizations, employees, and citizens who choose transparency every day, not only on December 9th.
We are here to support you at every step of the process.
